Natural Surveillance

Design and maintain sight lines so people and activity are easily observed — lighting levels, window placement and trimmed landscaping across approaches, entries and gathering areas.

Instrument items: Exterior lighting (1B_A) · Clear sightlines (1B_B) · Camera coverage (1B_D, 2A_A) · Front-office sightlines (2A_J)

The principles are how a campus is read. The instrument is how it is recorded.
